According to a WHO Report :
“Major cause in India for the blindness continues to be the Cataract
which is responsible for about 80.1% of blindness in India, followed by
refractive errors 7.35%. These 87.45% of the people who do go blind may
not if preventive and curative measure are taken in time.”
Sansthan was conceived to fulfill a long felt need to provide free eye
treatment to the rural poor at there door step who constitute 80 % of
India’s population.

We organise the camps in the remote villages. We carry the team of
doctors with all portable equipments, medicines, social workers. The
number of eye patients in the camps is increasing day by day. Some times
it reaches to 1000 - 1200. All the patients are provided free medical care
on the spot. Cataract patients are segregated and taken to a most modern
equipped Vardan Netra Chikitsalya (Vardan Eye Hospital) Ghaziabad for
IOL Surgery.
The Surgery are not conducted at camp site or in villages.
Our commitment is to provide the best treatment, so the operations for
Cataract are conducted by the Micro-surgery with pcIOL technique .

By the hospital vehicle, we take the patients to hospital, provide them
food, the surgery is done, the patients stay overnight at the hospital,
post-operative medical attention is provided the next morning medicines
are given for the next seven days and the patients are transported back
to the their villages.
Follow-up teams are sent within a week to check up all the operated
patients.
